Is this surveillance?

No. Téra is a game you play by choice, made available through health care providers as part of your postnatal care. The behavioral monitoring only happens within the app and only during your sessions. You consent to monitoring when you register. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

Will I know if I've been flagged?

Accepted Answer

Not directly — but if a flag is raised, you can expect your health care professional to be in touch. The purpose of the flag is to prompt care, not to alarm you. An amber flag triggers a phone call. A red flag triggers a visit. You will not receive an automated notification that says "you have been flagged."

What if I miss days?

Accepted Answer

Missing 2–3 days triggers a gentle push notification to you from the app. Beyond that, your care provider may reach out. Missing sessions is itself a behavioral signal — it does not mean something is wrong, but it does mean your care provider will want to check in.

Do I have to play every day?

Accepted Answer

Daily play produces the most reliable signal, which is why it is recommended. But Téra is designed to be gentle, not demanding. There is no score. There is no failure state. The tapestry you build only grows — it is never diminished.

What happens to my data after I have finished using the application?

Your active monitoring ends. Your data is retained for 30 days for clinical follow-up, then your identifiable data is deleted or anonymised. See our Privacy Policy for full retention details.

Can I see my own behavioral data?

Accepted Answer

No. You can see your tapestry — the visual record of your sessions. Access to the underlying behavioral signal data is currently limited to your clinical care team. We are reviewing whether to offer mothers access to their own trend data in a future version.

How does Téra fit into an existing postnatal care workflow?

Téra is designed to sit alongside your existing care schedule, not replace it. You prescribe it at the postnatal visit. You receive weekly reports every Monday. Alerts arrive in real time only when a flag is raised. In most weeks, for most mothers, you will receive no alert — which itself is useful information.

What training is required?

Pilot partners receive an onboarding session covering the dashboard, the escalation logic, and how to read the behavioral trend lines. This takes approximately 60 minutes. No technical training is required.

How is the dashboard accessed?

Open /midwife in your browser after signing in with your professional credentials. It is mobile-first web — no app download required.

Question 10

What does "amber" and "red" actually mean clinically?

Accepted Answer

Amber means two or more signal dimensions are showing sustained deviation from the mother's prenatal baseline over multiple days. It is not a diagnosis. It is a reason to call. Red means three consecutive amber flags. It is a reason to visit, with behavioral evidence in hand, within 72 hours.

Is Téra a medical device?

Téra does not diagnose. It generates behavioral flags that prompt clinical review by a qualified professional. We are working with regulatory advisors to clarify the appropriate classification under EU MDR. Pilot partners will be kept informed of regulatory developments.

Téra has completed a validated research phase and won four of five categories at the HEC Paris Vibeathon. We are now transitioning into a structured pilot validation programme with clinical partners. We are actively seeking grant funding and strategic partnerships to support the next phase.

What evidence exists for the behavioral detection mechanism?

The signal dimensions are grounded in published literature on behavioural correlates of postpartum mental health. Who owns the IP?

The IP is owned by Tera. Clinical and NGO partners will receive access at cost in exchange for clinical validation data and deployment support. Commercial licensing to health ministries and insurers follows successful validation.
