Téra

Who we are
Téra is operated by the developer identified in the applicable app-store listing ("we", "us"). For privacy questions, access requests, corrections, consent withdrawal, or deletion requests, contact info@hellotera.org.
What we collect
- Email address, phone number, age, and a non-identifying participant code.
- A referral code and linked-midwife assignment where you choose to use a code.
- Detailed puzzle activity required to provide the programme: session dates and times, tap timing, mistakes, hints, completed patterns, play frequency, and related session metrics.
- Separate optional product-improvement analytics used to improve flows and identify bugs.
- Technical security and service logs needed to operate the platform.
- Aggregate website statistics for hellotera.org (see "Website analytics" below).
- Technical error reports when the website crashes (see "Error reporting" below).
How detailed gameplay data is used
Téra may turn detailed puzzle activity into wellbeing-related observations. If your account is linked to a midwife, the linked midwife and authorised programme staff may use those observations to support ordinary follow-up. They must apply their own professional judgement.
Téra is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Téra is not an emergency service. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Required programme processing and your controls
Account details, cohort linkage and detailed gameplay sessions are required to provide Téra and linked programme follow-up. Registration requires an acknowledgement of this processing. Sessions created offline are uploaded when connectivity returns. Separate product-improvement analytics remains optional and off by default.
- You may turn optional product-improvement analytics off at any time.
- You may delete your account or ask us to delete your data.
Website analytics
Our public website, hellotera.org, uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and understand which pages are useful. It does not use cookies or store anything on your device, and it does not identify you. It records the page visited, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type and country. Visitors are distinguished only by a short-lived hash of the request that is discarded within 24 hours, so visits cannot be linked across days or to your Téra account. This is separate from the optional product-improvement analytics described above and does not cover gameplay data.
Error reporting
When our website hits a technical error, it sends an error report to Sentry, hosted in the European Union, so we can find and fix the fault. A report contains the error message, the page path without any query string, and your browser, operating system and device type. We remove email addresses, phone numbers, cookies, account details and anything you typed before a report leaves your browser, and we do not record sessions or screens. Reports are used only to fix faults and are kept for 90 days.
Who receives data
- The Téra team on a need-to-know basis.
- Your linked midwife and authorised programme staff when a referral code links your account.
- Contracted service providers such as hosting, authentication, email, and communications providers acting under our instructions.
- Vercel, which hosts our website and provides the website analytics described above.
- Sentry, which receives the technical error reports described above.
We do not sell personal or health-related data and do not share it with advertisers.
Legal basis
We process account, cohort and gameplay data to provide and secure the programme under the lawful basis documented for the applicable deployment. Separate product-improvement analytics requires a separate affirmative choice. Aggregate website analytics is based on our legitimate interest in understanding how the public website is used; it collects no personal data that identifies you. Technical error reports are based on our legitimate interest in keeping the service working and secure.
Retention
Account and linked gameplay data is retained until account deletion unless a shorter programme retention period applies. Optional product-improvement analytics is retained for up to 24 months and then deleted or aggregated. Security and legal records may be retained where reasonably necessary to meet legal obligations. Pending accounts for players aged 16 or 17 are deleted after seven days if no guardian approves them.
Security and international processing
We use access controls and encrypted transport. Contracted providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we use recognised transfer safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your data, object to certain processing, withdraw consent, and complain to a data-protection authority. Contact info@hellotera.org. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully completed before withdrawal.
Children
Players must be at least 16. Players aged 16 or 17 need approval from a parent or legal guardian through a single-use email or WhatsApp link before gameplay is unlocked.
Changes and contact
We will update this page and its date when this policy changes. Material changes to wellbeing-data processing will require a new in-app choice where appropriate.
